brains x cardinal black
Two Welsh names. One shared stage.
Made in Wales
Since 1882, Brains has been part of Welsh life. Now we’ve teamed up with Cardinal Black, one of the most exciting bands to come out of South Wales, to create a special edition of our stout and celebrate the pubs, clubs and communities that bring us all together.
Watch the film Cardinal Black made to mark the collaboration, a tribute to the places that shaped them and the people who’ve been there along the way.
The story
Before Cardiff was a city, there was Brains
For more than 140 years, our beer has been poured in pubs and social clubs from the valleys to the streets of Cardiff. They’ve always been more than places to have a pint. They’re where communities gather, stories get told, songs get sung, and wins and losses are shared.
They’ve also been where Welsh music starts. The back rooms and function rooms where bands play their first gigs, find their sound and start the journey to bigger stages.
Cardinal Black’s journey began in those same rooms. From early gigs in South Wales pubs to venues around the world, they’ve never forgotten where they came from. Neither have we.
