Committing to a greener future
While our beers are never green, we do want to take stronger actions. To do so means truly embedding new sustainable initiatives within our strategy. We are proudly part of the All-Wales Carbon Reduction pilot programme which is a collective initiative driven by the Welsh Government and other bodies to implement and achieve net zero targets.

By improving the efficiencies of our buildings, operations and processes, we aim to reduce our carbon by 50%, by 2030
100% renewable energy
By 2050, we aim to have seamlessly transitioned to 100% renewable energy use.

Crafting the next generation
We’ve partnered with Cask Marque, the UK’s foremost provider of cellar and bar management training, to offer training courses within our brewery’s state-of-the-art facility. As a brand new Cask Marque Centre of Excellence, we’re the first venue with this accolade in Wales and the south west of England.
Cask Marque
Cask Marque will deliver the schedule of Cellar and Bar Management courses at our newly designated premises, offering hands-on training in a fully operational cellar and bar environment. The courses are designed to improve operational excellence, beer quality, and customer experience in pubs, bars, and hospitality venues.
brewlab
In partnership with Brewlab, we upskill and deliver the Inter-Laboratory Collaboration Scheme, and also host Brewlab’s training sessions at the Dragon Brewery. Together, we’re able to provide world-class training on brewing science, flavour analysis and cleaning in place (CIP) methodology.

rAISING OVER 2.6K FOR City Hospice Charity
City Hospice is a Cardiff-based charity providing vital palliative care for people living with cancer, dementia, MND, COPD, and other life-limiting illnesses across the city. Our Brains Brewery team and friends recently took on a virtual cycle challenge covering the full 870 miles of the Wales Coastal Path—raising over £2,260 during our Brains Cyclethon! A huge thank you to everyone who supported this incredible cause helping those who need City Hospice’s care most.
